I'm sorry to announce I'm closing my business, Jay Bee Designs. This is my last post. Since my husbands passing 3 months ago I've purchased a home in Oregon. Time to bond with my family. I look forward to hugs and the cutest great grand babies ever. I'm on a new adventure.
Thanks to all that have supported and followed me. Your truly appreciated.

Holiday Happenings
I'm taking a short break from quilting and decided to do a little cross stitching. Being bitten by the holiday bug I made the two snowmen shown below.
I love snowmen. I started collecting them then thought better of it. I can't collect snowmen and fabric too. Not enough room in our house.
Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Tooting My Horn. New Quilt Patterns.
These are my new patterns now available on my web site. www.quiltersfun.com
Pinwheel Puzzle is a table runner measuring 12" x 34-1/4". I've created a new fun and quick technique to make the units for this pattern. Can you find the pinwheels? It looks complicated but is simple. Choice of fabric gives the illusion of a contemporary, modern look. What about holiday fabrics? I might try that.
Southwestern Trilogy is a small wall hanging measuring 7-1/4" x 18-3/4". Perfect for that little side wall or an RV. This pattern goes together quickly and is a great way to use up some of your stash.
Enough bragging for today.
Thanks for visiting.

More News to Share
My Color Crayon Mini Workshop has been published in the September 2013 issue of The Quilt Pattern Magazine. I even made the front cover. My directions tell how to make the cutest little wall hanging. A great technique using color crayons to create a work of art to use in any quilt. Fun too. For information on this magazine visit www.thequiltpatternmagazine.com
Happy quilting!

Sharing the News
I'm doing a happy dance and had to share with my friends and followers. My design, Potpourri, has been published in the Autumn 2013 Quilter's World magazine.
As usual I'm keeping busy. I'm now working on a kid's whimsical wall hanging called "Tony Tugboat". All it needs, to be completed, is that special fabric for the border. A challenge.

Sharing My Quilting Adventures
I'd like to introduce you to my newest pattern on the market, "Native Trails". I like that I only had to choose two colors for this one. Anything over five colors and I have a hard time. Not that I haven't done it. It just takes me forever.
We're still working on my book. Most of the editing is done. Now the pictures are being taken. I'm worse than a kid at christmas time. So excited and finding it hard to be patient.
I'm working on a new southwestern, table runner, design. I live in a snowbird area and this is my time of year, the summer, to create. I use the remainder of the year, when the snowbirds (friends) return to promote, teach, and present lectures. Busy as ever and loving it.
Thanks for visiting.

Sharing My New Web Site and Quilt Pattern
I just had a new web site designed. The woman did a great job as she filled in the bee wings with one of my designs. If you have a chance check it out at http://www.quiltersfun.com/
This is my newest pattern. "Feather Dance". It's a 15-1/2" x 39-1/2" table runner. I had fun with this one. Although I must admit I have fun with most of them.
We're into our typical Arizona summer heat. Yesterday was 110 degrees. Needless to say I'm thrilled that my hobby keeps me indoors.
Thanks for visiting.
Till next time,
Joan

Quilting News and a Hint
Shown in the pictures below are the February Quilter's World magazine and my pattern on page 65. I just couldn't contain my excitement so I'm sharing it with you.
Now for the hint. I was cutting a dark fabric with a busy pattern the other day and found it hard to see the edge of the fabric through my ruler. After squinting and holding my breath trying to line up the edge I finally realized if I cut from the wrong side of the fabric I could see it much better. If you have a hint you'd like to share please contact me at jaybeehive@yahoo.com . I promise not to pester you. I will even delete your contact after I read your email. The only thing I ask is if you would allow me to share your hint on my blog. Let me know if you want your name mentioned or not for sending the hint to me. As always thank you for visiting.

Introducing My New Pattern

Here is a sneak preview of my newest pattern called "SW Triple Treasure". It looks complicated but it's not. It measures 24 1/2" x 18 1/2". It should be ready for market within two weeks. I'm waiting on the pattern covers. As soon as it's ready I'll put it on my web site.
This is a good time to share some joy in my life. I became a great grandma in February. Her name is Lilly. I hope to see her for the first time in July.
To whom it applies to have a happy Mothers Day.
